From Hampstead to Kew

We have downsized!

On 7 September 2018, we moved from Hampstead to Kew .

We sold our house at 9 Nassington Road and moved to a new, smaller house at 16 Clarence Road, Kew TW9 3NL

It was a bit of a wrench. We lived in Nassington Road for 47 years; we edited our magazine Current Archaeology from there and it became one of the best known addresses in archaeology;  and it was here that if we brought up our family and lived a wonderful, happy and fulfilled life.

But it was time to downsize. It was too big a house just for the two of us. Our family had moved away and it was time to move with them, and since our son Robert, with his wife Libby and our four  grandchildren, had moved to West London, it seems sensible to move to West London to be with them.

These pages therefore form our tribute to Nassington Road, to remind us what it was like, and then to take a look at our new house in West London

It has been a very busy time. We were moving from a splendid family house to a smaller house. We tend to call it a cottage, but we hope it will have the advantage that we are moving to West London where our son lives and where Current Archaeology has its offices, and and if all goes well, we hope we will end up by having all our three children and all four  grandchildren within walking distance.

We here present some pictures of the two houses. Read on!
